Is there a story behind your name and number? The name was given to me, ask and I’ll tell you one of the many rumors about how it came to be. My number is the area code of Southeastern Massachusetts where I grew up.
What year did you start roller derby? 2012
What roller derby team(s) have/do you play for? The Elm St Nightmares, Greensboro Counterstrike, and most recently the Gate City Allstars!!!
Your Athletic background? None to speak of. I went from being a competitive couch potato to rollergirl. I am living proof that ANYONE can play roller derby if it’s what you want!
Any derby/sports heroes? I’ve always gotten all fangirly over Freight Train from Texas. Ever since we saw her at playoffs in Asheville a few years ago she has been my idol! Also every single one of my teammates. They are my heroes on a daily basis.
Best derby memory? The first year I played, and it was the first time my home team the Elm St Nightmares had won the championship. The energy on the bench that game was incredible!!!
What’s your worst roller derby memory? Fresh meat…August…tin can warehouse….rookie skater/athlete. I never knew what sweat in my eyeballs felt like until then. It was rough.
Why do you play roller derby? I play roller derby to prove to myself and to inspire other women that they can literally accomplish the impossible. Roller Derby has changed my life in so many ways. I would never want to change the person that I have become and only because of Derby and the confidence it has given me.
Gear you couldn’t live without? My 187 knee pads. Knee pads are the most important piece of gear you will ever own!
Likes: Coffee, wine, roller derby.
Dislikes? F*uck Trump. The patriarchy.
Anything else we should know about you? MY NAME IS PANTS AND I LOVE GREENSBORO ROLLER DERBY!!!!
What do you do when you aren’t skating? I work in an Italian restaurant as a kitchen manager so I work crazy hours, make lots of pasta, drink lots of wine and play cards! Texas hold ‘em is my forte.
